What's the prettiest town or village you've ever visited?
Raining this morning so out of boredom I was looking through some RV trip pictures for something to do. I got to thinking, of all the places we've visited these last 12 years of RVing, which place do I think was the prettiest? For me, I think it was St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada in the summer of 2013. St. Andrews main street has many shops and eating places, is super clean, is very colorful with brightly colored buildings, lots of flowers, and pretty murals painted on the sides of some buildings.....I remember thinking how lucky the locals were to live in such a nice little town. How about you, what is your favorite place visited?

Petroskey, MI. Is the most peaceful, tranquil, loaded full of specialty shops towns we have been to. No big box to be seen around downtown. Street after street of cool shops, old town feeling..........A step back in time so to speak. Made us think of our home town 45 years ago...........dead/gone now.
Right down the road from Petroskey is Charlevoix, MI. Also a special little town.

The whole Leelanau County in northern Michigan is peaceful and gorgeous with awesome beaches and unique small towns, vineyards, orchards, quaint shops. Leland is a neat tiny town on Lake Michigan. From it you can take a day ferry over to South Manitou Island. No stores there....just beauty and a historic lighthouse to tour. (We've lived on that island and gave the tours for three seasons - part of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore). So far, we've been to all those mentioned - except St. Andrews and Norway.

Jim Thorpe, PA
A very nice, quaint, old mining town. Lots of shops, railroad, historic mansions to tour and even an old jail that is a museum pretty much undisturbed from a by gone era. Also home to the memorial to Jim Thorpe, the Olympic Athlete.

Great post. I second the nomination of Petoskey, Mi. W liked it so much we bought a lot there. The other town I'd like to mention in Banff in the Canadian Rockies. Beautiful, charming with lovely shops and restaurants.

Frankenmuth, MI. is quite nice and worth a visit.
This would be a great time to be there to visit maybe the world's largest Christmas store, Bronners.
After that make sure you go to Zehnder's to try the chicken.
I guess Michigan is a great place to be from!

Last summer we really enjoyed Bar Harbor Maine.
Also in the Province of Quebec, route 132 from Montmagny up the coast going north, all these little town are worth the detour. Boutiques of all sorts, very nice.
