Scottybdivin: You have really got my attention with these pictures of Parker AZ. We are seriously going to check this out. I checked out the temps and they seem pretty good even in February. We had figured we would have to wait until March to find good riding temps but Parker seems to have temps in the 70's by mid to late February. Thanks for posting that information. And to everyone else also for future ideas!

You won't find any more fun in the woods than in Upper Michigan. We have hundreds of logging roads, some grown over , some a challenge. We up here call them "two tracks" . Some are actually county roads too. Marquette County is the largest in the state with a lot of real wilderness you can get lost in . I like the Huron Mountains area in the NW parts of the county, and , also right out my back door there are many trails in a 500 acre tract, and I am only 4 miles from downtown Marquette !

I have a Suzuki Samurai I built for serious off road. It also does great on the highway, we travel with it too on a trailer behind our coach. The entire UP has many places for off road, from side by sides , to big tired p/u trucks. There also are mud races, and more, however on the main roads you are not allowed on ATVs that can not be driven on the state highways. The exception is the county roads in the woods...anything goes year around, in winter its snow machines on the same two tracks , hundreds of them from all over the Midwest on weekends.!come on up to the other PURE Michigan , its a land ,a place like no other !

This one is about 30 min from my house but I have not been there yet. Hidden Falls Adventure Park. They have tent camping, no hookups, to sites with full hookups. Check out the videos. Here are some photos. We are thinking about loading up and spending a weekend riding some of their easy trails.

Just booked Easter week with a large group in the California desert called N. Glamis Hot Springs Resort. Never been there before, they are only open Oct-Apr. due to high summer temps. Looks like some fun riding. I would also recommend Walker River Resort near Yerrington Nev. Awesome place. Sorry no help on East coast areas, West coast is my home base, and I still have a lot of areas out here to discover

Just a quick note on sand dunes. Almost everywhere on state, federal, and local lands ATV travel is restricted. This was not always the case, and a lot of park Dunes have been compromised.....That said , there are places on the Lake Michigan shore line where the dunes are being sold, removed or just stolen for commercial purposes. I have not lived in lower Michigan for years and am not sure how these problems have played out. The point , where ever you go be aware of the need to protect these natural lands and landscape around you , what ever you do.

In the Southern California desert, Ocotillo Wells OHV recreation area right next to Anza Borrego state park. Both are great in the winter and early spring.

Also, Moab Utah.

Wow i stumbled upon a gold mind!! Lol I put a post up in the boondocking section looking for places to atv in Arizona during winter months.. This thread is awesome!!

I too will check out that Parker Arizona area.

Thanks Rollnsmoke for bringing this one back up. I hadn't seen it before and there are lots of suggestions. Idaho just made it legal this year to ride your 4 wheeler on state highways within city limits if the speed limit is under 45mph. It's how a lot of people get around in the small towns here and now they are legal. Camp 60 is a great area where you can boondock and ride 55 miles of trails. Sheep Mountain - Camp 60 OHV Loop : Idaho ATV Trail This is definitely a summer spot, not winter though.
