I run a campground so that's where I'll be. Taking care of all the campers that brave the holiday weekend. $$$$$$$$

Staying right here at home. The fireworks are so close the HOA hires the landscapers to enforce parking.

We are staying home for the 4th, our little town has one of the biggest fireworks displays for miles around and we are three blocks away. Then they do it again on the 6th to celebrate something called Western days. What else would you expect from a town named Independence? Then we're heading out on the 7th for three days at River Bend State Park along the Santiam River here in Oregon to join other retirees from my "working" days at HP. No need to travel thousands, or even hundreds of miles to find great places when you live in Oregon......

I don't go camping on holidays. Just too crazy at destinations, not to mention getting there and returning. So I stick to home those times.

But this year, I have a new jet boat! So I'm braving the crowd and taking the boat out at our local lake. Hope to get out really early to beat the crowd, stay out all day and watch the fireworks from the lake (they have quite the show from one of the islands near the marina). It will be a late night at the ramp though and I'm sure, plenty of idiots will be making their presence known. I'm a fairly patient man though, so I'll park at the fuel dock and watch the free "entertainment" until the crowd thins. Drunks are my only concern, as well as morons who run without lights.

State College PA at Beaver Stadium/Bryce Jordan Center for the 4th fest. Outstanding fireworks display. The have rides for the kids. We will take the RV up in the morning and get a spot next to the rides. Then we'll have a picnic at our house and head up to the RV around 5:00 to let the kids enjoy the rides. Fireworks at 9. Had a great time last year.
