Same here. Memorial and Labor day weekends are like New Years eve, lots of wild and crazy people out there. We usually take advantage of the solitude of the CG's the weekend after holidays. Damn I must be getting old!

A lesson learned from my boating days... Avoid holiday weekend traffic and crowds. Plan trips and outings when school is in session, enjoy peace And quiet.

I guess we will stay at Beech Fork Lake in WV for the weekend. Then, go up the Ohio River Scenic Road, over to Columbus OH for the zoo. tour the Ohio Amish colonies. go into Michigan to see the brother-in-law. go down the Natchez trace Parkway.Stop and see firends and a nephew in Huntsville AL tour the Louisiana bayous. and over to Harlingen TX for the winter.

Since we live only a couple miles from I-87, Adirondack Northway, can watch the 'zoo' of bumper to bumper traffic by standing on a nearby overpass if we get the urge to mingle. We have a semi- seasonal at a CG on Lake Champlain (we pull out and travel several times a summer) and wont even go up there until Wed, 9/3. We'll then be pulling out on 9/4 for a 3-4 week trip, the Maine Coast, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, back to Maine then return for the last 3-4 weeks of the CG season.
