There are huge RV parks around the Motor Speedway in Concord. If you avoid race weekends they are practically empty and low prices. Tom Johnson RV operates one of them. We were there a few days before a race and it was interesting to watch the big rigs arrive. A massive Prevost pulled in a couple of spaces from us, two young people got out, hooked it up, detached their old car from the tow bar and left. Turned out they were the delivery drivers, the owner was flying in the next day.

Carowinds (amusement park) at the south state line in south Charlotte. Good spot with good amenities.

Hi rvtime2,
X2 on the Tom Johnson Racing Campground. It is at the NASCAR race track. Go to:
Racing Resort at Tom Johnson Camping Center,Marion NC,Concord NC,Recreation Vehicle Dealer,RV Dealer

This is the only place I stay when in the Charlotte area.

Charlotte RV Parks

I stumbled across this one recently. I have never been there but it looks nice and Fort Mill is convenient to Charlotte.
