We are planning a trip to Savannah, Ga in about two weeks. Where is a nice, reasonably priced place to stay? I want to be within a 15 minute drive to Savannah. Thanks for any tips or info!

We have stayed at both Skidaway Island and Fort McAllister state parks and both have what you are looking for. McAllister is a little closer the the River Walk etc. and to Rt, 95 if my memory is correct.

THe average price is just under 30/night all over that area in case you are wondering. If anyone knows a better price in or just south of Savnaha I'd love to hear from you.

I have to be there the week of the 21st for a wedding.. Some son of a Gunn is marrying my daughter (It's a pun son, Danny Gunn)

Agree with previous poster about Ft MacAlaster in Richmond Hill. Great state park on the grounds of the fort and 30 minutes from downtown Savannah. Pretty good seafood dive less than 2 miles from campground...Fishtails.

There is a city park on Tybee Island. Think it is Rivers Edge?

Thanks for the info! I found a few places were $50/night! The one on Tybee Island, the Koa, and Red something or other. Skidaway Island is $28. We ended up deciding on the Biltmore for a couple of reasons...sewer, 5 miles away, and some of the tours will come right to the campground. It is $36/night but the extra money might be worth the convenience of not driving 15 miles each way to town and not to mention the gas savings in our gas hog of a truck lol!

I'm sorry I didn't jump in here earlier. I have posted this information before regarding the Savannah area.

Hardeevile RV Park, SC is 15 minutes (9 miles) from downtown Savannah. There are not many amenities, but it is a full hook-up CG. It is also a Passport America CG (or it was when we stayed there.)

Happy trials, enjoy the area.

WE came in on 204 from I 95 however, if you are coming in on 16 then you can take the Truman x-way until it dead ends at 204.....go East 2 -3 miles and the park entrance will be on your left. There is some construction were Truman ends.
