Where to go??

We want to take the motorhome somewhere this weekend.. leave fri and come back sun. My wife looked up state parks but seems there all booked . spring break! Our last trip was up to north carolina for 5 days and we stopped at walmart all but one night which was great with us but i was thinking there has got to be some places just to stop for the night that would be something to see? ? like out west boondocking in the desert or whatever. we are near ocala florida and figure say 8 hours to get to wherever. So georgia, panhandle or ?? any ideas? dont mind staying at a park but where?

Hi demon1018,
Consider the Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg area in eastern Tennessee. Many things to do and places to stay. Go to:

Check out the website only in your state...as a Florida resident I understand about the beach. We are going to check out the springs you can dive in. I have done the Everglades, amazing!! Good luck

Georgia has some beautiful state parks. Look to the Savannah river north of Augusta to lake Strom Thurmond and Hartwell. Mixture of state and Army Corp campgrounds leave plenty of options providing you meet the size considerations (under 35'). All within the driving range you outline.

We spent a week on Topkee Island last month and exploring the area was a lot of fun plus some really great seafood.

Bella Terra near the Alabama shores (about 8 miles from the beach) is one of my favorites. Nice big beautiful lots and real quiet! It is probably no more than 8 hours from where you are.
All the best!

I'm guessing since you live in Florida you've visited Stephen Foster, but if not, a beautiful State Park in northern Florida.

Ho Hum RV Park offers a quiet enviroment in a No Children Park.

Explore around the big bend of Florida. Good restaurants in Appalachicola and nearby. Laid back area.
