If Grizzly doesn't work out for you, the West Entrance KOA is handy to the park and restaurants.

We went twice - a week the second time Beautiful = Stayed at the west entrance camp ground - kind of plain but very nice and lots to do right there, we drove through in the motor home and went on to Rushmore - We went through Cody and wished we had stayed there a few days. Heading back soon for sure. I turned 62 while there and got the free lifetime federal park pass Nice.

if you only need electric, there are a few big sites at Baker's Hole, a Forest Service campground 2 miles north of West Yellowstone. Gorgeous location, nice views, and much, much quieter than anyplace in town. This is our preferred campground in the West Yellowstone area. If you don't need electricity, there are even more sites in the same campground.

We really enjoyed our stay at West Yellowstone KOA this summer. We had a premium site, which included a lovely concrete patio, new concrete table and benches, and an adult wooden swing. Full hookups, good WiFi, indoor heated pool. KOA activities for the kids, the grandkids liked the pancake breakfast. Six miles from the park West entrance. KOA allows fires and tents. We've stayed at Grizzly before, and drove by this summer. Still lovely. Right at the front gate to the park. But it is a clean, paved, groomed basecamp. I prefer the amenities and camping like atmosphere of the KOA.

Really? I guess so, except the west and the south. Take a look at a Google map and see.

I have to agree with staying at Grizzly. I have stayed there multiple times and always enjoyed it.

If you prefer to boondock, (some sites are electric) Bakers Hole in Gallatin National Forest, 4 miles North of West Yellowstone is great. You are truly out in the woods.

Grizzly is a nice rv park. Yellowstone is HUGE! You can hit the major attractions in 3-4 days, but you will be in the car/ motorhome quite a bit. If you have not been to the Grand Tetons, it is definitely worth the trip. A stop in Cody on your way East is also worth the time. The Buffalo Bill museum is incredible ( especially if you're into firearms)... Devils Tower is also pretty cool to check out on your way to Mt. Rushmore.
