Where to stay, lower Keys and Key West

I have a reservation at Boyd's for four nights in March. Hoped to stay another 5 or six nights at the Blue Water but they are booked. Since I'm on the waiting list at Blue Water, I thought about trying Grassy or Sunshine Key RV resorts. Has anyone stayed at Boyd's, Grassy and Sunshine? How do they compare? Starting to think if I cant get into Blue water I'm better off just staying put at Boyd's the whole time.

We stayed at the Jolly Roger. It is nice if you can get close to the water or in their new section. Try for H1 thru H6 which is on the water but in high demand so your chances are slim.

We rode our bicycles through Grassy Key resort. They are very close together.

Flick, when you say Bluewater is booked, are you checking with both organizations that rent lots there? One organization is bluewaterkey.com, and another is bluewaterkey.org.

Didn't know there are two. I contacted the .com. I'll call the .org in the morning.
Thanks!

I've stayed at Sunshine many times. It is not of the same caliber as the other resorts you are staying at. Also, it is at mile marker 39. This is 39 miles from Key West (45 MPH or less). Sunshine is a nice place and I would stay there again.

I have stayed at Sunshine Key many times and I like it very much. Great place to ride a Motorcycle out of and the city of Key West is not what the KEYS are about. One day there is enough for me I like everything unique about the Keys.

Boyd's is about 5 miles from Duval Street, easy bicycle ride. Bluewater about 15 miles. Bluewater is nicer, both pricy, but if you want easy access to KW, Boyd's is it unless you are eligible to use military RV parks.

Call contact Rita at Bluewater Key RV Resort to see if she has anything. Other options in the area are Geiger Key marina/rv , Leo's and El Mar , the later two being close to Boyd's
