So far I've been able to make reservations, but IIRC you need to read the restrictions for each campground so you'll have an idea what to expect. Also, what the heck - it never hurts to ask!

PA restrictions?

I understand about the Passport restrictions, but I do not see them on the website. Do you need to join first to see the restrictions (on the web) or are they in the campground book that they send you?

Thanks

Since we are members I can't specificallyy answer your questions, there may be a cookie saying I am a member. I have no problems accessing the website or looking at the campgrounds. I don't see anyplace where I would need to logon. I use Firefox, maybe try a different browser.

It is a great pgm, especially for overnights. We easily make our membership fee back each year and we don't go out of our way to find a Passport campground.

I just went to the web site and brought up one park. If you go toward the bottom there's a section for 'Directions' and then a section for 'Notes'. In the 'Notes' is where they will give any restrictions.

got it

Thanks twogee. Got it- now it makes more sense. I was looking off the beaten path and there were no restrictions for the ones I was looking at in the "notes" section. They were near some brand new Wind Casino in the Brewton Al. area. The CG's obviously sprung up due to the brand new local Casino/Hotel. Now using your info I can see the restrictions and now understand the "complications". The restrictions appear more often at the CG's that describe themselves as "resorts" vs CG's. These appear to be seasonally desirous. I can only imagine what the restrictions would be near Disney, Washington DC, Gettysburg, or even for the biker rallies held out west during the summer- if I were into that sort of thing. In that I mean if I wanted to be near a bunch of "chillren" (youngins).

Hmmm. Still a good deal and I believe if you find a good one and just need that "extra day" to take a break they would even be a better deal.

Thanks

When one considers that the selling point to the campgrounds is to get people in during their slow time by giving them a deal the restrictions make a lot of sense. You are not going to get a deal on July 4 weekend. You will middle of the week in April. ;-)

I have found the restrictions are not cast in concrete. Call and see if they will waive the restriction. We have had great success with that. Mostly in the off season as that is when we travel.
