Will not going back to Half mile Ranch in Lake Luzerne NY

Stayed this past weekend at a campground in Lake Luzerne (didn't seem to be any other campers there except for seasonals). When I called to make our reservations I asked if their bar & restaurant was open & was told that it was open year round. We got there Friday afternoon, checked in & talked to one of the seasonal campers who was very pleasant & the woman who was running the "lodge". Friday night we decided to just hang in the rv & relax, figuring that Saturday night we would walk down & have a couple of drinks at the bar, maybe play a game of pool. Walked down to the bar about 7pm & found the door locked, but the bar had about 10-12 poeple in it (seasonals I assume). So we decided to call from our cell phone & ask what the deal was. This is how the call went -
Man - hello half mile ranch
Us - We are here camping & were
wondering if the bar was open?
Man - Not until the snow flies
Us - We were looking to come down & have few drinks
Man - Not unless your churchgoers or lesbians & I mean good looking lesbians, not the dykey butch ones either!

My husband & I were appalled by the rude & offensive way that we were spoken to. I don't know if the place is different during the summer months when there are more campers that aren't seasonals, but I won't be going back to find out!!!

I don't know where you are from, but I live fairly close (30 miles +/-) and stayed there just one night. I have another name for that dump = Half A--ed Ranch. There are several other pretty decent places near there - might be a few bucks more, but are run for all RV'rs, not just for the "privileged" seasonals. Too bad that this place is so bad as the Luzerne/LG/9N area is a great vacation/weekend destination from late spring through late fall

Actually ended up finding a news article about the owner. He was arrested for assaulting an employee back in June!

I did review them after someone else suggested, I guess sometimes it takes them a while to post. The site told me that my review was pending.

There is great need for a sarcasm font.
