That's where we are "supposed" to be parked.

Arrived Thursday after hours and found our site assignment on the board out front.

The lot - across from the tracks was a nice level gravel lot. Nice hook ups and cable TV selection. A tree blocked our Direct TV.

The park is small, well cared for and CLOSE to all the attractions. 5 min from Starbucks for your morning coffee and 10 min from Williamsburg. We also visited Busch Gardens and that too was only a 15 min drive.

As for the train, they were present, but got used to them.

Hey JMonroe..

I tried this morning to make reservations for site 321 and it was already booked... Do you have another site recommendation?

I was wondering how site #319 is...

Thanks for the help !!

Williamsburg Campgrounds

Just an update on our week-end at American Heritage RV Park in Williamsburg. It was great! When we arrived there was some confusion as to what type of site we wanted so they actually gave us a choice of two sites. We "landed" as they said at site 121 which is in the new section that just opened last week. It was very nice and quiet. There are a lot of amenities at the campground, e.g. pool, basketball, water slide, etc that we didn't take advantage of but saw lots of young people using them. The staff were very nice and helpful. We took a lovely stroll through the park Saturday evening after dinner and spoke with several people. All in all, a great week-end. If I ever do go back to Williamsburg I would definitely stay there but first on to other places!

We just spent a week at American Heritage and it is still the best choice. And, things have actually gotten better - the roads are now paved, so the dust is not a problem. Some talk about other spots being closer to Williamsburg - but because you can jump on I64, just a quarter mile away, you can actually be at any of the historic triangle attractions even easier than if you were closer.
