Here's a trip report about our stay in Willits, CA. We visit Glass Beach, Mendocino, and Richardson Grove State Park.

Thanks for the report. Northern California has always been my favorite area of the west coast. How was the drive on 101 with the suspension up dates?

Great, great review, and amazing pictures!
Mendocino is beautiful. Next time you catch the movie, "Summer of 42," take a close look at the setting. Yes, it was filmed in Mendocino.
I remember traveling the 101 route back in 1971 in my VW bus, following the course of the Eel River, and that now abandoned curve you show. Man, it was scary. Haven't been up there since, but the new route looks much more comfortable.
Question, did you take the MH from Willits to the coast via route 20, and did you take the MH into Mendocino as well? Just curious about the routes and parking.
Great review!

Rick, reducing the tire pressure seems to have been the last piece of the puzzle. We are now driving to WA and it’s doing great. No bouncing at all, and Ride is much smoother. The new shocks and tire pressure were key.

Thanks! Your ‘71 road trip sounds like fun, and I’ll have to look for “Summer of 42” on Netflix. We remember Murder She Wrote was also filmed there.
We kept the RV in Willits as our base camp and took day trips to the coast and redwoods. I’d say Route 29 is very do-able by RV. In fact we saw several RVs and Trucks on the way there and back. I’d just take it slow and enjoy the drive. :-)

Thanks.
Just a clarification, do you mean Route 20 as 29 doesn't appear to be near that region?

I hope you had a chance to ride, "The Lost Coast" road.
Pick up Mattole Road out of Ferndale, CA and take it all the way around and through the Humbolt Redwoods.
Do it in the TOAD, not the MH.
Stop for lunch in Petrolia,
Come out of the Humbolt between Redcrest and Weott.

Wayne, thanks for the tip! Sounds like a great drive for our CRV on our next trip to the area.
Once, years before we had an RV, we stayed at the Benbow Inn in Garberville and we took small backroads all the way to Ferndale. We thought they might have to send out a search party a few times, but we finally found the right road. Traveling before the iPhone was a lot more interesting! :-)
