Hi
We are headed to a bicycle race in Winston Salem this May and need CG recommendations.
Thanks in advance to our esteemed colleagues!

I live here, so I don't stay in many camp grounds. However, there are a few.

Depending on how close you want to be, Tanglewood Park is nice. It is located in Clemmons. It will put you about 15-20 minute from downtown, but does have lots of things to do before and after the race.

You could also go North a little to Mayberry.

I have never stayed at either, but have my first stay at Tanglewood booked for March. I go to tanglewood often, as they have decent single track mountain bike trails and lots of walking / jogging paths. I also ride to the park on my normal 50 mile route.

Are you racing or spectating? I'm a wannabe cyclist. I ride a Roubaix on the road and a Camber on the trail.

By the way... Lots of good road riding in this area, and some good single track within an hours drive.

Great news! We are planning to do masters tandem time trial nationals and watch the pros. We will bring our singles and mtb too based on your advice.

Tanglewood is very nice, but not very large. Lots of nearby activities on the park. I'd make reservations ASAP...

There is a nice city run campground in High Point. Oak Hollow ( I think). Leveling can be troublesome in some sites.

After staying there last weekend, I feel inclined to provide some additional input.

Try to get one of the lower number sites (1-28) as they are pretty level. Allot of the other sites are very u level front to back.

There is some more specific info on sites on rvparkreview . com

7 should be good!

I just booked 10 ( the only pull through) for April 28-May 2. Looking to book a few more long weekends there too. Really enjoyed our time there.
