Winter 2016 trip ideas.

We went to Florida last winter. This winter want to do either Texas or perhaps dessert southwest. We found we like to stay in one place about a week and then move on to explore somewhere new. Wondering if any of you might have suggestions of trips you have done. Thanks in advance for your help!

I recommend utah and colorado. They're both really nice and more rv friendly. Maybe too cold in winter... Arizona is good for emptying your wallet. Nevada is great for camping but boring. New mexico is beautiful but some rough roads.

We have spent the last 8 years playing around Az. So much to see and do. Finally got to Texas, as the weather has always been a problem. As to cost in Az from moderate cost RV resorts to boondocking, there is sooooooo much BLM land, week stays are always at a discount. Weather dependant you can plan on coming and going two routes.

For winter we found Arizona to our liking .... and it's definitely not expensive. As it is in every state you have a wide range of prices. We like the state parks and the greater Phoenix area has some wonderful Maricopa county parks - huge sites, lush vegetation and awesome hiking. Arizona has sun just about every day - good for your soul!

Southern New Mexico is colder and windier than Arizona... and as to the comment on rough roads - ?? never found that to be true. New Mexico is great in spring and fall.

Texas - we've tried it a few times and it was damp and cold and windy. We enjoy hiking and Jeeping and you don't do that in Texas.

Southern California also has some nice areas if you stay away from the big cities.

Nevada is also too cold for winter and it's definitely not boring in spring and fall...lots to explore there.
