Do they still have the signs posted warning of the smuggling activity through the park ? We live in AZ and travel to Sonora but we've stayed away from that area for the last few years.

Yes, there are signs posted. That is kinda of a Feds CYA disclaimer, as we have been camping there for 7 years and never a problem. The Border Patrol office 2 miles away is one of the largest in the US, with over 675 agents. The bad guys avoid people. I would be more fearful of Phoenix or Tucson!!. Come on down.

Have you ever stayed at Lake Havasu? There are lots of off road activities/jeep rides/river adventures, and more.

No thanks, but we will be travelling to San Carlos soon.

I have friends in the BP in Ajo and they advise to stay away from that area. (Organ Pipe)

I haven't camped at Havasu. Are you recommending the camp site there so along river in Parker
