Winter Destination

Can anyone suggest a good winter destination in a warm section of California, where we can enjoy more natural surroundings then the usual campgrounds which usually feature horseshoes, pickleball, etc. We want full hookups, and prefer to not be stacked on top of each other. Thank you for any help you may be able to offer.

We chose Rio Bend RV and Golf Resort just outside of El Centro (8 miles west on I8). I like the fact I can ride my bicycle out around the farmers fields in the mornings. Temperatures are about 10F warmer than Arizona in the winter months. The sites are a bit larger; but they are side by side. We are near the back road, and look out towards the mountains across in Mexico.

El Centro has the usual Costco, Supercentre, etc (about 80,000 population).

One suggestion.
Brian

Sante Lakes Regional Park is good for San Diego touring. Borrego Springs is tiny and low-key. There are a couple RV parks.

Do you golf? If so, there is a central Ca resort that gives two rounds free golf with every nights stay. They have a monthly rate. Temps in mid 60s-70s most days. Catch and release fishing in private lake, just feet from your coach. Centrally located to skiing and the beaches. Not as warm as Socal but very tolerable. Can't give you the name...I'm affiliated. Pm if interested.

We stayed in Winterhaven Ca, just a few miles from Yuma Az Very nice park clean, pool you make your own activities. I know they have all Holiday meals if you prefer instead of cooking 8 or so miles to a huge shopping mall in Yuma. 88 miles (one way) to Quartzsite busy place Jan Feb. Then there's Mexico across the boarder. Each row of MH's has there own happy hour type deal at 4, drinkers or not all are welcome. We met a couple from irv2.com last season and are planning on a return trip this coming winter season.

The only place we tried in San Diego area is Chula Vista rv resort, very nice but packed and very tight spaces. Now we will check out Borrego Springs.

Thank you. I'm wondering if you have traveled into Mexico with your rv? We have stayed near but never ventured across border.

Again, thank you. I wonder what are the possibilities of getting a back row spot. We have not gone away for winter in quite awhile and find getting decent spots nearly impossible. Thank you Phyllis and jerry
