Yuma can have some cooler days. It just had a couple days where the overnight temps were at freezing. Day times have come back to the 70's.
It is dry there so the cold is not penetrating as if there were high humidity.
Yuma is close to San Diego so if you find the temps too cool a quick trip to the coast will fix that.
Lots of things to do and the cost of living is very manageable.

We were in Yuma in Jan some years ago, it was in the 90°'s at the time and much cooler at night.

We're in Apache Junction now. Temps have been 40s at night and 76 today. We'll be going to Quartzite around the 16th and then to Yuma around the 19th. Folks at the park here in AJ say we'll love Yuma because it's generally warmer. Looking forward to it because we've never been there and anxious to see the territorial prison.

While in Yuma check out the Quartermasters Depot. As well a drive to Julien for apple pie is recommended. The cinnamon ice cream goes great on the pie.
Lots of golf courses. Rates are very decent, courses are in pretty good shape.
Los Algondones. Mexico (7 miles west of Yuma) is about 20 minutes away if you want glasses, dental or prescription drugs.

Boon docking for free at Quechen casino??? Close to Algodones for dental and medical.
Winterhaven CA has a couple OK campgrounds, Rivers Edge and Sans End.
Lots of good campgrounds in Yuma.

We're scheduled to stay at Shangri-La, (928) 342-9123, which looks like a nice, clean, park, with plenty of games and activities.
