We went to Florida. Had a fine time; lots of pickin in the campgrounds and a lovely bluegrass festival in Kissimmee.

My thanks to all who offered advice; seems like the Louisiana / Mississippi area we were thinking of is not yet ready for tourists and casual loafers. We are now in NC slowly heading north into the snow zone. ... gotta get the mail and get the taxes done.

A banjo will get you through a time of no money much better than money will get you through a time of no banjo.

We are also considering the Gulf Coast next winter...but I think I am going to focus on the area around South Padre...nearer to Mexico. Good luck in your search!
