My wife & I plan to visit her brother over Thanksgiving. We realize there are numerous parks, particularly for snowbirds, in Yuma but we would prefer to be closer. Since we will be spending a lot of time visiting we don't require a lot of activities but hope for large level sites and decent amenities. We don't travel with pets so that isn't an issue.

Have you considered staying at Pilot Knob BLM? $20.00 for 2 weeks. (Decent amenities?) There's a gas station across from the entrance that offers a place to fill up with fresh water as well as a dump station. Pilot Knob is less then 5 miles from certain area's of downtown Yuma.

There is an RV Park just to the west of Winterhaven about a mile right on the main road. It's not a upscale park but has the basics needed.

We hadn't really thought about BLM; as easterners we haven't tried it yet. We aren't afraid of boondocking or overnighting at Walmarts but don't really want to try a week while doing so much visiting away from the rig. BTW, while researching it I did run across a Pilot Knob RV Resort just off I-8. It seems to be a Coast-to-Coast member and we aren't so ...

Thanks,
Don
