I am in the process of planning a few trips for Summer 2007. Our base will be Traverse Bay RV Resort in Acme, MI. UP of Michigan, Wisconsin, Canada are all great destinations...just not knowledgable of the best places and routes. Big rig friendly routes and camp grounds would be a plus.

Thank you,

You have chosen a wonderful RV park in Traverse City to call your base. It is right next to Grand Traverse Resort with it's highly rated golf courses. If you could be a bit more specific about your interests and travel plans we might be of some better help. A bit south of Traverse City is Manistee. In Manistee (well just north of it) is Little River Casino with another wonderful RV park. It is less expensive than Traverse City (about an hour away) and includes full hook ups with cable and free WiFi.

Let us know what you are looking for and I'll see what I can dig up for you.

Depending on how far you plan to travel; whether a day trip or a few day excursion, there's plenty in the UP. Taquamenon <sp?> Falls, Soo Ste. Marie, just to name a few. Much further than those spots you're talking about a two or more day trip. Of course we just love the scenery so anywhere in the UP is fine with us! Don't forget Mackinaw Island, plus Mackinaw City and St. Ignace on the other side of the bridge...all great places to visit!

Consider the coast of WI lighthouses. There are many of them dotting the coastline, each with its own history. The tourism dept, is the best source of information, the call and information packet are free.
