Woodstock

Looking for information on RV sites in the Woodstock/Bethel area of NY.
We’re traveling in a 38’ DP with toad.
We will be there around 10/16/19
I realize a lot of places close after 10/15 but we can’t help the timing
TIA

We’ve stayed at the Interlake RV park (spent a week, summer ‘15) outside Rhinebeck; family ties to Rhinebeck.... and the Yogi Bear near Gardiner (4 days IIRC, summer ‘17).

Interlake is a decent place to stay and is close to many of the “quaint” towns along the Hudson River and reasonably close to places from Poughkeepsie to the village of Woodstock. It’s a bit of a drive to Bethel (close to 2 hrs IIRC, which we have done).

The Yogi in Gardier has invested a lot of money recently, and is a nicer RV Park, and it a lot closer to Bethel.

Not sure if either are open this time of the year......

The village of Woodstock and Bethel are actually not very close to each other either, although Woodstock certainly “markets” itself that way and milks the “legend” as much as possible, and you can spend a day there taking in the shops and restaurants.

Plan to spend most of a day at the Bethel Center for the Arts, and be cognizant of the concert schedule for the modern amphitheater on site (it’s not on the famous hill) as on concert days you may have limited access to some areas. Walking down the hill and standing on the gravel pad for the stage was pretty incredible; you dont grasp how big the hill is until you you see other people walking down.

Pictures from the top of the hill looking down, inside the cultural center (sorry about the orientation, but I loose the resolution when I rotate it....), and stage pad looking up

Regards

Interlake is a decent place to stay,
For a larger rig, I would not recommend Interlake. This is a photo of a 40 footer in one of their sites, front end actually at the edge of the road (and almost touching the ground). Interior roads are not big-rig friendly, either.

Look at maybe Saugerties KOA or Rip Van Winkle in Saugerties. Those will be much closer than Rhinebeck (and no Hudson River crossing/toll).
