Worst Roads By Far
We're on our last night of a 7,500 mile trip that took us through 18 states. Louisiana, hands down, without question, has the worst roads of any we have traveled. That includes interstate, primary and secondary.
We've been traveling in a 32' class C pulling a Honda CRV.

Either you missed Indiana or Louisiana is really, really bad .
Good grief there were some terrible spots, but they are working on some of them.

No, we were in Indiana, too. Louisiana was simply bone-jarringingly bad.

My vote is Louisiana for the worst roads also. They spend a lot of money on their rest areas that maybe they should have put towards their roads.

I agree, Louisiana is bad, but we found New York to be the winner for the worst. At least New York has an excuse with the snow and ice...

Far right lane of California Interstates are rough riding due to patches and big rigs. Lost a rear hub cap off my Alcoa rims due to heavy vibration. Now I use the center or number one lane and let traffic go around me.

Louisiana the worst. PA is coming in second.

Another vote for Pa. There are a lot of roads that are truly awful.

California is the worst, but we are getting a fancy bullet train between two interior cities that will never be used.

Yeah, those roads in Louisiana built on swampland, marshes, and enduring the regular hurricane damage is no excuse. But I do agree most of their roads are terrible.

We broke dishes on Hwy 64 (or was it Hwy 264) into Norfolk and Virginia Beach back in 2012. Thought some of my fillings came loose as well.

I agree. I took my toad down to VA Beach for the first time earlier this year. I was amazed that the toad didn't come loose from the hitch as I was driving due to the bad joints in the roads. I kept looking in the rear view camera fully expecting the toad not to be there. Thank goodness it was still there when we got to the beach and then when we got back home.

I agree completely. My DW got extremely car sick going through Louisiana. I am now prohibited from planning trips that traverse that state. Any state can have a patch of bad road somewhere but the entire state?

Let's face it folks. Our roads are going to hades and not being maintained. But our road taxes and tolls keep rising. Where is the money going?
