Worst RV Site ever - California Delta Area (Park name withheld)

DW wanted to go out in the rv for Mother's Day, so I reserved a spot at a park we'd never been to before - big mistake! First of all, I prefer pads rather than glass; mainly due to dogs. And this trip was no exception. The entire week-end was the smell of a wet dog, until it rained and the smell briefly subsided. When I was setting up there were mosquitos buzzing like dive bombers (the "very last site" we got was actually on the outer perimeter of what appeared to be the long term neighborhood up against what could be described as a swamp). There were "pincher bugs" in the power socket cover and a colony of ants, with eggs, coming out of my surge protector when I disconnected. Talk about a mess... My wife says she had a good time. That makes one of us😡

I grew up in California, moved away after 35 years and never looked back. We make a trip or two a year to visit some favorite restaurants and things like that. I cannot get over how bad the roads are though, the 10, 5, 60 and 91 freeways will jar your coach to pieces with the potholes and ridges that run across the lanes every 50 feet. Seems as though Cal Trans needs to come over to Arizona and take some lessons on how to make a smooth road surface.

Why is all of your discomfort the RV parks fault? You were in 'nature'.

It is a shame that so many think that the grass area in/around the sites is an area appropriate for their dog(s) wastes.

Delta area, wet grass, mosquitos, sounds normal to me.

If this was your first visit, you didn't use campground reviews to see what you were in for?
