WVa suggestions

Going from Ohio to SC. Hoping to go via West Virginia. Anyone have any recommendations for campgrounds. Looks like route is taking me OH-8 turning into I77S into WVa. Thanks

Depends on how far into WV you're wanting to go.
Rippling Waters Church of God CG in Romance. Ask for the pull-thru's at the very front of the CG.
Camp Creek SP @ Mash Fork in Camp Creek has a spattering of fhu's if you can get 'em. Otherwise, the electric only sites are just fine.

If you just need a place to boondock, Tamarak in Beckley has a parking lot designated just for overnight RV's. You'll want to be up at the hilltop with Tamarak, not down at the truck stop at the bottom.

Hope this helps.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Hi ravens2012,
If you go to Rippling Waters, be very careful between I77 and the CG. The road is narrow. There is a bridge that once crossed requires a right turn. There is a guard rail with many colors on it from coaches that did not swing wide to make the turn. If there is a car coming toward you, stop and let them pass before making the turn.

For the Beckley area Google "beckley west virginia campgrounds" there are several choices. If you go to the coal mine CG, go to the office first and register. Do not turn right into the CG (before the office). There is a telephone pole that is very close to the road and may greet the right side of your coach. It is much easier to go to the office first. Then return to the road leading to the CG and make a left turn onto the CG road.
