Yellowstone in June 2014

We have a 24' Winnebago aspect staying at the Madison campground in Yellowstone . Has anyone stayed there? We know there are not hookup but near the Firehole river . We want to do some fly fishing in the park while there. Does anyone know what the campground is like?

We stayed in Madison Campground in October 2010 ... it's pretty nice. Had a 2006 View then. Good roads, mostly little pull through turnout sites. Your rig will fit nicely. Have a great time!! About 15 miles from the town of West Yellowstone.

Madison is a nice campground but you might want to read up on the fishing regulations for the national park. Also, as with every public park the easy-to-get-to spots are heavily fished. Good luck!

What are the sites like. Sunny or shaded? How close together? Tables ? Bathrooms? Etc. how close to river ?

Recommended fly fishing guides?

How long drive to old faithful ? Or park headquarters? And parking withe RV ?

What else would you recommend to see?

Yellowstone is huge! It is basically divided into four sections with a loop road for each section. You should not have a problem parking your rig in most of the places you can drive to. We were there a week and did not see everything. Can't wait to go back.

West Yellowstone has several stores specializing in fly fishing gear so suspect most any of them could put you onto a guide. Enjoy one of the most beautiful and magical places in the world.

We got the book Yellowstone Treasures by Janet Chapple which is a great guide to visiting the park.

Don't try to park your RV at the paint pots-- you'll have a hard time getting out. Best to take the toad!
