Thanks for the link to Browning.
It was an interesting story. How sad that this is reality.

My question about the best way to get to Glacier however was not answered!! Highway or not???

We have made the reverse from Glacier to Yellowstone. Try this > out of West Yellowstone on US 191 to US 287 to I-90 west. Take the Kalispell exit US 93 just west of Missoula. It is a very nice drive up to West Glacier around Flathead Lake. I would avoid the East Glacier area for reasons stated earlier.
Much more green vegetation on the west side of the park. We stayed at Glacier Campground just outside the park. It is secluded and very much like wilderness camping. (If you like that sort of thing)

hope this helps

Thanks for the idea to go to West Glacier. That will be our preferred way too. Yes we do like the wilderness camping and give the camping a try.
Thanks again.

The road from Glacier to Browning is blacktop and twisting. We pulled a 28 ft. with truck to Glacier that way and had to take it easy. Browning is one less than neat town. Some campers have reported harrassment to them. We were kind of lost but had to ask directions. I had my husband pull up to the curb and I asked 4 older men where we needed to go to get to Glacier. I was very, very polite and so were they but apparently the younger males are not so. We found the towns through Montana near reservations were not friendly to Caucasians.
