Yes another Ft Wilderness Question

I am sure this has been covered a hundred or more times, but I figured I would ask anyways..... We are thinking about taking our Coach (37LS Outlaw - 38 Feet plus a 12 foot rear deck and one slide) to Disney next Christmas. we are Disney Regulars because we own a Disney Vacation Club Membership, and always fly and stay at Boardwalk. We just realized that we can use our membership at Ft Wilderness, so thought about planning a holiday road trip with the coach.

Can anyone make a recommendation as to what loop we should request? We want the premium full hook-up site. We want to be close to transportation and the waterfront. We really don't care about the pools or Comfort Stations. It will just be the two of us (no grandchildren unless one of our boys surprises us....)

We like loop 600. It is just past the Meadow Trading Post. It is more open (less wooded) than most of the loops. The bus picks up at about the midway point on the loop and if you want to walk to the waterfront, it is not too far.
There is no comfort station or laundry on this loop but there is one across the Street.
The 700 Loop is a little closer to the Waterfront and more wooded. I don't think there is a bus stop nearby, you would need to walk to the Settlement to catch the bus.

I think I have attached the Fort Wilderness Map below.

Please tell me about using your Vacation Club Points for the campground... I had not heard that this option was available.

The Disney Vacation Club is a deeded real estate interest in a Disney Property. We have 200 points a year at Boardwalk Villas. The points can be used at just about any Disney property plus many other timeshares that trade around the world. The type of accommodation and time of the year dictates the number of points for the stay. We found out that the rv sites fall into this as well as the cabins at Ft Wilderness. Check out Disney Vacation Club for details. We have been members since the Mid 90's and have never waisted a point.

A premium site during Christmas is only 17 points a night.

Can you reserve a specific loop? We have reservations in September for 8 days, but they didn't give me any idea of what loop they would assign me. Reserved a premium site.

You can find the information you need on the Fort Fiends.net web site. They have an Iphone app that has a picture and description of every site in fort wilderness. You can fax a request for a specific site to the front office two weeks before you arrive. the form is on that site as well. I like the 800 loop the best because it is a dog loop and the sites are bigger but if you use your satelite dish you might not like the trees. I stay there at least 3 times a year and never go to the parks.

We go to Ft. Wilderness frequently and always stay in the 1300 loop. Close to the trading post/pool, and all are premium. Having said that, we have stayed in the 1200, 1400 loops and I don't believe there is a bad premium site !

Thanks for the info on the Disney Vacation membership. I always thought that the Fort wasn't eligible. Also, as mentioned go to fortfiends.net or go to the App Store and search for Ft. Wilderness Campsites. It will give you dimensions and pics of each site. Good luck !

Someone asked about reserving specific sites. When you make your reservation, ask for your favorite loop, it is also added when you pre-check in online. When you arrive ask for the loop/site you would like. They are good at accommodating. We don't always get the site we ask for, but we always get the loop.
