Now that I have got your attention, here we go.Do you recall sitting on your big confee couch ,watching TV when on comes a commercial for a really cool RED dodge magnum SRT-8 station wagon. Now the driver has this puppy loaded down with wood and who knowns what all.He leaves burning rubber and me wishing that the ride was in my driveway. Will we think we found where that commercial was shot. This has to be one of the prettiest places in the country. While returning from arizona to washington st. my better half thought we should take 101 home. She had picked up a things to do pamphlet on this area so In northern calif.at approx. milepost 691 on sr 101 we went west into Ferndale.there is a county campground here with some plugins.DONT DRIVE A MOTORHOME OF ANY SIZE OR TAKE A TRAILER on the next part of this trip. This is a toad or pickup or car trip only.Drive into town west bound.About 3/4 of the way into town there is a bank on the northwest corner of a cross street.Make a right turn here go about a block or so and youll see a street- more like a large alley -on your left.It goes up a steep hill.Go left here .This is the start of a 100 mile trip that will take you about 4 hours.Make sure that you bring a camera, water and maybe some TP.There is no place to eat and no bathrooms. Also a full gas tank in the toad should be mandatory. My wife picked up a pamphlet on this area and it does say that the car companys shoot a lot of commericals in this area so if you see the guy with the red dodge yell out.Has any one else out there made this trip,if so what did you think of it.This is now a mandatory trip for us when we go south.treat your selves you wont regret it.
