Yuma, AZ

My husband and I are planning a visit to Yuma, AZ in mid December. since we have never been there we're wondering what area is best to stay and why; right in Yuma or in the foothill section or any other area. One place we are considering is on East County 17th St. and the other is in the foothill section. BTW, we have a 45' motor home. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If you have the time, you might dry camp at the Indian casino at Somerton, AZ (south of Yuma a few miles on US 95). No utilities but only $10 for up to 3 days. Easy in and out. That would give time to tour the local rv parks at your leisure. Lots of choices in Yuma and nearby.

Have fun, drive safely.

Lots of good parks in the area. Foothills is a bit windier and cooler than downtown or west.

Lots of folks stay at Cocopah RV park. There are a couple parks in Yuma by the river, one park in Winterhaven that is by the river.

If you want to boon dock for a few days the Quechen casino just west of Yuma has free parking.

We had friends that had two lots in the Foothills so we just stayed with them on their main lot.
We did eat at the casino and Golden Corral several times too.

Del Pueblo tennis and RV resort. Long wide pull throughs. Fair price, QUIET at night, so far several stays nice people. Good access from I route either correction. NO TRAIN NOISE. Six miles EZ drive south of city and the amenities.
