Not sure about the Grandfather rule. I am going to write them a letter along with pictures of the car and see what happens. Not going to worry about it too much though. There are a few activities going on that is open to non registered cars anyway. (Downtown Gulfport, VA car show, Biloxi Block Party, and Mopars at the Marina. So it`s all good

Maybe you could get on some "stand by" lists at several cg's. If you don't mind dry camping there are numerous locations for that. Where we park is a pretty large area where a restaurant used to be. We're always "antsy" each year about whether it'll be roped off but so far so good.
Off the beach there's dry camping at IP and Boomtown casinos; Boomtown being the better of the two. We'll spend a couple of days there later this week on our return trip from north La. to Destin.

Try Fox's RV Park in Biloxi. It is just off Hwy 90 next to The Coliseum.

I am on a couple wait list. Tried fox rv no luck. Don't mind dry camping but want a little security.

You will not have a problem finding a spot to park your RV, or a spot that you can dry camp for a few days. They are all along Hwy 90 through Biloxi and Gulfport. If you do that I would suggest you get there early because things get very congested once the cruise gets started. You will not have any security at all at these spots. Good luck.

We get there on Monday and leave on Sunday. We've never felt there was a potential problem with security. We don't leave our stuff outside overnight but there are quite a few trailers and motorhomes in the area we camp in. The old strength in numbers thought comes to mind.
Every one has their own comfort zone when it comes to safety and your concern for security is certainly valid. Some families dry camp and some desire FHU. Both are correct .
