We started taking our daughter to the races at age 3. We first started at South Boston where the weekly series ran. We then took her Martinsville as she got a little older probably 6 or 7 years old. My advise is to start at a local short track so you can see how he handles the noise. Then maybe to qualifing at a larger track or event. The problem we found is, as she got older and we took her to bigger tracks (NASCAR) you have to pay the big bucks for her ticket too. So at Charlotte you can sit in the family section on the back stretch for $29.00. Not to bad is you have to take you child out because they don't like the race, or noise, or just get bored. But sit on the front stretch for a $107.00, the track does not care if the person sitting there is a child or an adult. We could not justify that money for her until she got older. Start at the local tracks and work from there. I have not seen a child's section at any of the tracks where we attend.

If you want to take your kids to some exciting racing take the to NHRA Drag Racing everything from 7000 HP dragsters and 330MPH Funny cars to the kid down the block with his 56 Chevy. Every ticket is a pit pass where you can get up close to the cars and drivers. The best part it about one half the price of NASCAR and I love Nascar. The south is full of drag strips there is a national meet in Gainesville FL.next week. I've been Drag Racing sense 1962 and it is a great way to spend a Sunday with the fanily.
