I drove past the track last weekend and it didn't have a lot of cars in the lot. I think they may be off for a few days since wiring 7 days a week for several months getting ready for the F1 race.

We stayed at Bastrop-The Oaks RV park. Friendly staff with many F1 fans. One Brit. Told us he callled about parking his rental MH trackside and he said it was 12,500, but he might have been thinking pounds vs. dollars. Scots and 2 MH full of Italians? That roasted a lamb on a spit over the campground campfire. Our hookups were 75 per night, which seemed reasonable during the race weekend. It was something for this smalltown boy to see!
Tickets purchased for 2013, RV spot booked, can't wait for November!

Know that the expected commute time (one way) from Austin downtown is 2 hours. The infrastructure to support the crowd is not yet there..

RV probably isn't a bad idea, as three star hotels are getting $350/night.
My wife and I did this last year and the drive time wasn't that bad maybe 40 minutes with the majority on the final road into the track. But our rooms at hampton in downtown ran $852.50 a night after taxes.

Me too, Not sure I'll RV it, I purchased a 4 PSL (Personal Seat Licenses) for Turn 15 grandstand. Was at Turn 9 last year and it was great, though it was quite a trek from the entrance.

We watched from the S's last year. Trying turn 5 this time. I think my daily ride was around 30 minutes to the shuttle park. My brother is a McLaren/Lewis fan and I like Alonzo, so we both had a blast with the race results last year!
