Cedar Hill State Park TX

I'm starting this thread as a place where those of us in the Dallas/Ft Worth area can discuss meeting and camping at Cedar Hill SP.

Most of us have been discussing the Cheap Handling Fix for the Ford F53 chassis. Since we were woefully off topic there, we'll try moving the discussion here.

Some of us were going to try to meet up at Cedar Hill over the Easter weekend.

Dave, are you going to the Boomer's Rally?

Chuck, I was down at Cedar Hill last November and bought an annual park pass so I'll sure be ready when I can get the timing synched with y'all.

Chuck, where what spots do you stay when you are there? I drove around an looked at the rv spaces when I was out there in November but can't remember which are best.....?

We have several favorite spots. It depends on whether we get the sewer sites or not. The low numbered spots are to the right when you pass the office.

Probably our favorite spot is #44 but also like the odd numbered sites from 17-21.

For sewer sites we like odd numbered sites from 79-85.

Downtown?? Not even close. It's south of I-20 on the east side of Joe Pool lake.

Welcome to IRV2!

There are so many great people on this forum. So much willingness to help, so much experience, and a treasure trove of information for you.

I am excited about getting a group of us together at CHSP some weekend and having a mini-IRV2 DFW campout.

Take pictures of your new rig and keep us posted.

Congratulations and welcome aboard!

We will be at Cedar Hill starting on Good Friday for a week or so. Hope to see some of you there. Have a full connection site reserved but that will be a busy weekend. We will be in a gold and brown Dutch Star and towing a red Mazda Miata. Stop by.

We'll be there starting Thursday evening as well. Post your site number when you get it and we'll try to look you up. We'll do the same.

A Mazda Miata.. so you trailer by any chance? We have a Pontiac Solstice we were thinking we could Tow (love that little toy) but the recommendation is no way jose.. so we are looking into a car trailer.

I tow my Miata using Roadmaster tow setup and Blue Ox braking system. I am told that the world as I know it will end for towing that car, but I have towed it for a bunch or years and no problems. It is a stick shift, and I suppose the tail shaft bearing may get shorted on oil but I only tow it a couple of hundred miles at a time, and it probably gets enough from splash lubing. I have towed it probably 30,000 miles. Real fun car.
