General Motors is cutting factory support for Chevrolet teams competing in NASCAR’s Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series as the automaker restructures under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to a story that will appear in Friday’s edition of SportsBusiness Journal.

Like Chrysler, I am sure their support of any, or all, of the NASCAR series will be re-evaluated after they emerge from Chapt. 11. Problem is in the interim, as manufacturer support is not only money but engineering, parts and motors, even the big teams will be hurt. RPM had to layoff people due to Dodge's cutback of support in the Cup series.

They are actually cutting support in the Sprint Cup series also but not totally. They have already notified the truck and Nationwide series they are pulling out of there but their support there was not near as much as in Cup.

Here is a link to an AP story. There are others on the web like it also.
