Just sort of wondering if any folks are coming to this event in April? We will be hanging around Albuquerque and would like to welcome you to my home town.

It's my understanding that the classes and other events will be held in one place and the RV parking will be in an entirely different area of ABQ...about 12 or more miles from each other requiring travel on I-40. I see that as a huge locgistics problem! YMMV.
Here is information on The Rally.

It's really not a bad travel from one venue to the other. I-25 to I-40 is really easy. There is construction along the way but it should move well. You can usually go from one end of the city to the other in 20 minutes during "rush hour".
There was no other place to park that many RV's in one place in Albuquerque. There's a ton of things to do and see there and in the surrounding area.
Besides you'll have a great time meeting and sharing information with everyone there. Last but not least, all the good New Mexican food and parties.
We're looking forward to the experience.

Linda,
If you stay at Balloon Fiesta Park you will be 12 miles away. There is a KOA a few miles from the rally site, (expensive). There are also some CG's about 12 miles or less East of the Rally Site in the Mountains with less traffic. Other campgrounds are on the West Side, going I40 West around the Camping World. Staying at Balloon Fiesta Park is a bit of a drive and to be honest I am surprised they are not using the Fair Grounds for dry camping. The traffic without the rig should be no problem. If towing just be careful and you will be fine. Used to commute that road out to Moriarty daily.

Oh, we're not going to the rally...went to the first one held in Gillette, WY. About 5,000 rigs...10,000 people, approximately, showed up. WAY TOO large a gathering for us! By the time the rally starts, we should be well on our way north to visit family in Idaho, and then on to Oregon to pick up the slide-in camper we're buying for our 3rd trip to Alaska (via the Deh Cho route with a side trip to Yellowknife).

Hi Michael and Gail,
Sorry we will miss you. We should be just finishing up East Coasting, dead leaves and all, and arrive in Albuquerque in November for the Holidays.
Are you going to be staying for awhile or just for the Fiesta?
