Yep, we signed up at the Good Sam Rally in Redmond OR several months back. We just added two days early arrival to it. I'd recommend it to you too, allows you to get settled in and rest some before everything starts.
Not our first rally by any means although most of ours have been FMCA.
Need to figure out what to do with the 12 year old grandson we're raising while we're gone!! My wife informed his 19 yr old brother that HE was going to take care of the youngest!! Not sure how that's going to work for two weeks. We're stopping on the way down at a friends in CA so that's why the two weeks.

We plan (notice that word) to go as walk-ins, and camp outside the grounds. The overall cost will be about the same, and we will have FHU's.

Not a problem for us as we'll have electricity and can easily go a couple weeks with the onboard water and grey/black tanks without dumping.
One of the "troubles" with the walk ins is that they don't have access to the classes, nor the evening entertainment.

Alot to Learn
My wife and I are in discussions about attending. We are new to dry camping (actually, camping in general), but our unit has 50 gallons of water as well as 50 gallon grey and black tanks. I also own a Honda 2000i generator for recharging. I understand that water and honeypot service can be arranged if need be. Don't imagine will need the furnace or air in March??
Anyone attend one of these in the past? Are the seminars of a "good quality"? I am sure the event will be fun, and the entertainment looks to be very good.
Thanks,
Tom

Yes we have attended others. Good quality seminars is subjective!! All of them are presented by vendors that want you to buy their product although they can't be too overbearing about it. I came to one about 15 min late due to having to wait for the child's area to open, by then the seminar was pretty much over. I didn't buy their product either!
Water and honey wagon have been available at the others we've attended so I suspect it'll be the same there.

Thanks, we will not attend at all then. We have a medical issue that requires FHU every other day. We can overnight dry camp if necessary.

The sites at Phoenix include 30 amp power, I assume you need water and sewer for the medical issue?

Our first rally was in Redmond last July. We had such a good time that we purchased the half off tickets for Phoenix. Then we decided to volunteer and got half of that back. Will mean having to work a few hours, but an excellent chance to meet many of you in person. See you in Phoenix!!

We'll be ther we registered at the Redmond, OR Good sam rally.
During the OR rally it was annoused if you registered there you would get the Phoenix rally for 1/2 price. The evening entertainment is just about worth the rally price.
Bowzer's of “Sha Na Na” Rock N’ Roll Party Thursday, March 22
BILL COSBY Friday, March 23
Martina McBride Saturday, March 24
Ticket to Ride A Live Beatle Tribute Sunday, March 25
You can park off-site and drive your personal vehicle to The Rally each day with a Passport reservation. A Passport gives you access to evening entertainment and seminars, as well as to all exhibits and activities. Passport reservations cost $89 per person ($79 per person for Good Sam Club Members).
(Note: General public Day Passes do not allow access to evening entertainment or seminars.)

Stay in a RV park outside the rally and buy the Passport.

My wife and I are planning to go. We do NOT yet have an RV and hope to see several luxury DP coaches and in particular Newmars product line. I have a couple of questions for those that have been to this rally before:
1) Since we will be driving by car and not camping there, is it worth getting a rally passport? Currently I am thinking that a regular daily admission is adequate. I plan on being there a total of 2 maybe 3 days depending on how much there is to see.
2) Can anyone recommend a nice 4 star hotel to stay at that is no more than a 30 minute drive from the rally location?
thanks!

We registered at Redmond also. My wife wishes they would do one less "name" entertainment and have a meal or two like FMCA does.
They did mess our registration up, we registered for "accessible" (handicapped) space and it showed on the printout sent to us late in 2011. I then called and added two days "Early Bird" and somehow it dropped the accessible and they gave us regular parking. Think we have it straightened out now though.
We did voice our displeasure with the handicapped golf carts at Redmond. Only ONCE did one stop for us even though my wife was using one of the rolling walkers. FMCA does much better, even the name tags have the HC symbol on them and you can't ride the carts unless you have it. At Redmond they were picking anyone up and then had no room for us.
