90,000 motorcycles running 90-100 MPH? I see a problem. I saw 8 motorcycles running towards Sturgis, one blew a front tire and wrecked 5, I saw 3 ambulances leave the scene, Interstate Westbound was closed for an hour or more.

We were setting a record for the number of Miata's in a run from Grapevine, Texas to the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas about five years ago.

We had 365 Miata's and drove around the track once. The local police departments closed some streets and also directed traffic for us.

A 1,000 motorhomes should be interesting. The staging area better be massive!

A lot of the harley riders ride side by side instead of staggered so that is bound to happen if one has a problem.

World Record Attempt Postponed

The myriad difficulties working with Guinness, federal, state and county regulations, and most importantly, the extremely short timeline, has brought a postponement of the world record attempt.

Look for it in 2017, possibly, and perhaps a total change of venue!

When our Miata attempt to be the longest parade of Miatas we too had a problem with Guinness and didn't get certified with them. I don't know the reason.
