Does anyone have any experience with camping at The Strip for the NHRA events? What are your comments and pros and cons? A group of us are planning on attending the Apil NHRA event and are traveling from Oregon in our MHs. We will have our toads with us but is that going to be a problem for camping at the track?

Thanks and Merry Christmas

Paul

hello Pual, not sure if you found any info on this question or not. you may want to call the track and make sure you can camp there. i know during the NASCAR race you are not allowed to camp in the parking lots. only in the camping/RV lots.
i think there phone number is 702-644-4444.

Hope you really enjoy your NASCAR adventure -- I'm really envious. Are any of you military personnel, retired or otherwise? If so, there is a great campground operated by Nellis AFB just about 2 miles away from the race track (can even hear the noise). Non military can sponsor guests & reservations can be made 6 months in advance. Even if all guests cannot get camping spots, there is dry camping. If you need more info, go to www.militarycampgrounds.us

Thanks spooner and WayKar for your response. I finally did talk to Andy at the track and he set our group up in a track RV lot, which is easy walking to the track. We are attending the drag races in April, not the NASCAR. Andy thought we were looking at NASCAR and quoted camping rates around the track and I almost had a heartattack. NHRA is a lot less expensive.

WayKar, I am retired Army so I appreciate the info about Nellis AFB and camping.
