Nascar-Michigan Speedway in August

A few of us are looking at attending our first Nascar race weekend in the RV's.

One condition.......we must have electricity at our site.

Anyone can tell us if we stand a chance given the number of electrical sites around the Speedway? We hear they deal with season holders way before people like ourselves.

Looking for some help from someone who has actually stayed here with electrical sites. Also some info as far as using the Tram services mentioned..........costs etc.?

Depending on how badly you want to go, there are normally "premium" rv sites available for race tracks through resellers or season ticket holders. We used to once in a while use them when we really wanted to go to a particular event. Sometimes, if an event was really popular, we had to pay a premium (and sometimes we just said no thanks), but many times we found them for the same price or less than the track retail. Try local Craigslist and some on line ticket brokers - there may be some spaces available.

We go to several NASCAR races each year and have been Michigan season tickets holders for many years. Call the track directly and talk to one of their customer service agents. They will be happy to answer any questions you have. They are very customer friendly. There is a time period for season ticket holders prior to going on sale to the general public but if you call on the first day of open sales you should be able to reserve a campsite directly from the track.

Also, as jzick stated Craigslist is also an option. We have purchased many NASCAR tickets and camping for various tracks that way as well.

if you have young girls with you, dont let them out of your sight at Michigan. That place is full of animals especially at night. I made the mistake of getting trapped inside the infield a few years back. No room to open your awning, fighting with drunks running through your space. It was afull. sorry to say this
