N. Ind. RV Show Called Off

GOSHEN, Ind. - A northern Indiana recreational vehicle show that has been held for 54 years is canceling its August event.
The Midwest RV Super Show and Rally at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds has long been a major event for dealers and RV makers in the area that is a center of the industry.

That is a double-edged decision. It will avoid the expense, while reducing exposure to the public.

Several dealers (ours among them) were absent from the March RV show here in Columbus (it was pretty pitiful!). When I asked our salesman the reasoning behind them foregoing the show, he said he was told the expense & liability of attending the show wouldn't get recouped in sales with the economy the way it was.

Even at our recent iRV2 National Rally, a local dealer had a great opportunity to bring in & display several rv's. Yet they chose to bring in just 3 used & rather outdated units. Certainly nothing anyone at our Rally would be remotely interested in.

Hopefully, things will improve, but it's gonna be a long time coming.

It hasn't been officially canceled yet. The organizers said they had until the middle of Aug. to see if things get better. And would decide then.
