Riverbend is a 9 day music festival located in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee every June (this year it's June 8 thru 16), on the waterfront along the Tennessee River near the Aquarium. It has six stages of world class entertainment ranging from classic rock and jam bands - to country, urban and bluegrass (One of my favourite bands - that never tours - will be there!!! ). There is also a Children's Village, 5 & 10K Runs, Starfighter Jet flyovers and a Fireworks Finale. $28 admission pin allows entry into the festival site for all 8 days. Discounted admission pins are available from April 23rd through June 7th at Chattanooga area Favorite Market locations. After June 8th admission pins are only available at the festival gates for $37. each. Festival gates open at 4:30pm daily and the event ends between 11pm and midnight. Pins are available online too.

On the "About Riverbend" page towards the bottom is a link to www.chatanoogafun.com hover over "Vistors and you will see a pop-up menu that says "Accommodations" at the very top. Click on that for a search page.
We stay at Chester Frost County Park in Hixson for Riverbend. We like it and it is convenient to Hixson Pike and that gives us a straight shot to the parking lots (it's late when we get back to the park since it's after midnight by the time we get out of the traffic). After Chester Frost, we would choose Raccoon Mtn (Tiftonia) or Harrison Bay SP (Harrison). We have stayed several times at Chester Frost. We have lived there monthly (in a pop-up when we first moved to Chattanooga area) and we would stay there when the girls had to take their SAT's for homeschooling (we lived an hour away from Chattanooga). We "bounced" between Chester Frost and Harrison Bay for several months. We have also stayed long term in Raccoon Mtn. These campgrounds are all very close to the Festival even though theiy have different names for the towns. Chester Frost & Raccon Mtn are probably the closest.
I LOVE this festival!

There's also a couple of private campgrounds in the East Ridge area (just off I-75): a KOA, a Best Travel Park, and a campground at Shipp's RV. Being a "local" to the area, I've never camped at any of them, but they would be convenient for driving to/from the festival.

Looks like lots of fun. Maybe we should make that next year's Nor'Easter spring rally. We could combine a rally for a few groups. You know we love music.
