We have friends in P'Cola and that area was spared also.

Trust me, it's not fun at all to be in, or threatened, by hurricanes. very tense hours.

After the May 3rd, 1999 EF-5 tornado in Oklahoma City people used to question me about being scared of tornados. I wasn’t because unlike hurricanes they usually affect a very small area and unlike earthquakes you get warning that they are coming and there are places to go to be safe.

I watched that and many other OK tornados live. The local TV stations all have helicopters with fancy long range cameras on them and they compete to get the best shots.

Earthquakes are what spook me. No warning, no safe place.

It's easy peesy with earthquakes. If you can say what the heck was that you are in great shape. We live through a couple hundred of varying size every year.

Yes that works for the little ones, but what about the really damaging quakes? I've heard heard get under a hefty table or desk and stand in a doorway, but ...

I think it's the lack of warning that bothers me the most. I don’t enjoy dangerous surprises. Sena and Lily’s safety might be totally out of my control.

Wayne:
Can one still join your group as a member? I sent a message to RVM2 and he said he has been full timing full time for the last 4 years?

Thanks for your consideration!

Hi Ed,

You must perform 2 labors to join this group (Well, 3 actually...).

First, you must go to the "Are you a Mutant too" thread under Just Conversation.

Second, you must decide there is something your RV, 5th wheel, Travel trailer (or whatever) does not have that you do not need and post that declaration.

Third, you must declare on that thread that "the journey is the destination".

See, not so bad (yet).

Then...you must read the ENTIRE thread in one sitting (no, I'm just kidding...do read a few pages though to see how this all started if you haven't yet) (might be easier than cutting down the mightiest tree in the forest with a herring though) (Sorry, Monty Python reference snuck in there).

If you successfully accomplish all this, someone will assign you an official RVM number and the fun will really begin...

Ed,

Here's a link to our group thread.

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f287/

This thread is just a side topic. Go there, say hi! and complete your entry exam. RVMs will then come out of the walls to welcome you.

I got a PM from Ed and replied back to him via email and left a voice mail also. Haven't checked the main thread yet. Going there now.

I expected it would slow down once those that could signed up. Sometime after the first of the year there may be a few cancellations and maybe a few more that figure they can make it.

We still have 3 more spaces that we can fill up.

They may wanna help me gang up on Wayne or Tim (depending on who is closer)
