RVillage Rally One

I'm starting a thread to collect experiences about the RVillage Rally One in Elkhart, Indiana (May 17-21, 2018).

Here's my blog about the event.

We were there. Not our first rally but it was interesting attending a FIRST rally. Yes, things could have gone smoother but growing pains are just that and those of us who were patient and adapting had a great time.

It will be interesting to attend Rally Two. See what changes and what worked. I suspect one change will be location as we quickly overwhelmed the Elkhart Campground.

How many units were there?

We had over 250 DP for the 419 Maintenance Session and the park could handle it.

Part of the problem was the back section was unusable due to all the rain just before the rally. Nothing could park there. Some of us doubled up. We are a 5er, needed 50 amp but the 30 amp was not being used. So they parked a small class B behind us to share our spot.

The main event tent took up quite a bit of space. The bigger hall had the inside vendors. And they used the entire hall.

I also saw some smaller class A’s parked sideways along a road behind other rigs sharing water, electric and alternating dumping.

Apparently there was also a bit of miscommunication cause they oversold the rally.

It was a learning curve. I suspect other first rallies had glitches and growing pains as well.
