Terlingua Chilli cook off

Hi all

In a little over a week from now we are heading to Terlingua for the chilli Cook off. This will be our first time attending.

There are two compitition going on at the same time, the OTICCC event and the CASI event.

I would appreciate any input or advice about attending. There seems to be a lot going on there.

Thanks in advance.

Terlingua, TX in the Big Bend area south of Fort Stockton.

To the OP. I can only suggest booking a site at Maverick Ranch RV park in Lajitas. A short drive to the chili cook off venue and the best park in the area.

Well I think the main thing to remember, is go slow.....small bites, then lots of beer and tequila. Repeat as needed. Enjoy!

Going

My wife and I are going this year and have already booked to stay at BJ's RV Park, which is next door to the original Chili Cook-Off, so that is good being as we do not have a towed vehicle and my wife is disabled, 700 miles one way so will be stopping at Fort Clark Springs in Brackettville for a night going and coming back, looking forward to it as I have wanted to go since the 80's, if anyone has gone before can you tell me if this is a cash only event or do they take CC's as I had to send a check to the RV park to reserve a spot.

Dermec, Wow...I had not heard of Fort Clark Springs, looks very nice and I LOVE the huge pool! I would probably get lost doing laps in that thing! It's on the list of things to see! Thanks for sharing.
