You can add us to the list of those unhappy with the cost of going to a race. The whole experience is getting to expensive. We've just received our invoice and paid our bill for camping at TMS--up double from two years ago. Add 2005 PSL fees and season tickets. We are just shaking our heads and asking ourselves, what the h*ll are we doing? We have gone to as many as five races this year, but we are down to two in Texas in 2005.

We go to Michigan International Speedway in June and August every year. We camp in the infield, with NO hookups. We get there on Wednesday, and leave Monday Morning. Lots of noisy generators.

Infield slot is $ 175.00 for a rail, and $ 125.00 everywhere else. Pretty much all infield slots are "sold out" each year. In addition, it's $ 80.00 per wristband, per person for the weekend. At least this year, the June race will have 3 races, Arca, Craftsman Truck, and Nextel Cup. All in all, each race is about $750.00 total cost for my wife and me.

It's a real hoot to do it, at least once, but we're hooked on it now. And we will be there in turn one at the rail in June, and in turn 4 near the pit entrance in August.
