Dave & I are going to attend The Rally for the 1st time. They've never had one so close to us before & it sure looks like they have a lot going on.

Any other iRV2 members going to be there?

I will be attending "The Rally" and member Davel will also be there that I know of. You'll be able to find us at the Workhorse display or perhaps strolling around. You can tell the difference between Dave and I, I'll be the better looking one!

Does it go with Ohio wine? I usually travel with a couple bottles anyway, I can bring more for sharing.

Don and Bev,

Plan on picking up that chees at "Cheesy Bob's", in King? As I type this, I'm only about 20 minutes south of you, at our 'cabin'. The address is Pine River, but we're actually in the town of Saxeville.

We've talked about attending the Rally. We've never been to one, and it's relatively close. Problem is my wife's vacation time alotment. While I'll be retired by then, she can't until we sell both houses. The one in Saxeville, and the one in Lake Mills.

I'm still hoping we can make it. Do they ever 'sell out'? If so, how long can you safely wait before you sign up? We've not done much dry camping, but I'm thinking 4 days of electric is probably not worth $200.

Jay;

I have been purchasing my cheese at Weyauwega Star Dairy. They put my personal label on the other side if the block. They package 1# blocks of medium cheddar cheese for me. I order it a couple of weeks before I take my trips.

I can't answer your question about selling out as I have never attended this rally before. I attended the FMCA rally at Perry, GA last year and they set up diesel generators in the parking lot and they run 24/7. Fuel trucks make the rounds and they top off the fuel tanks for the generators daily.

I hope you can make it to the Rally.

Hope you can come, Jay. Even at that price for no electric, it's the closest the summer Rally is gonna get to me for quite a while. According to the website, all the other summer ones scheduled are in OR.

Hadn't thought to check the location for future rallys. That might be enough information to get the wife to rearrange the schedule a bit to be able to attend.

I think the only thing that might be a problem, with no electric hook up, would be if it were hot at night. I can't sleep 'hot'. At the EAA convention I hook up the Genturi and let the gen set run all night, so I can keep the A/C on.

Hey.

Mentioned the 'proximity' thing to the wife. She's open to rearranging her schedule to attend the rally. We'll have to check calendars and other obligations when we get home tonight.

Are most of you goint 'dry or wet' (with electric)?

Being it is so close we are going also. this will be the first rally for us. I decided since July can be hot and muggy, having the electric might be worth it at night since you cant run a generator at that time. looking forward to seeing you all there...

I've been to several of these and we usually just get the 'dry' camping and use the gennie. The noise level in the 'dry' areas are usually about the same as in the 'electric' areas because the rally uses several huge diesel generators to provide the 30 amp power.

I've heard some folks grumble about getting low voltage at some of these, presumably due to the long runs of cables to their rigs. If it gets hot everyone wants to pull the full 30 amps and it ain't going to happen in a set up such as this. So, the voltages drop down as the loads go up. If it's not hot then the power will probably be fine.
