89A & 89 Kanab UT to Flagstaff, AZ

Late in October we want to go from Kanab, UT down to I/40 at Flagstaff. On the map it doesn't look too bad, but we'd like the opinion of those who have traveled it. I don't mind some twists and up and downs, but I don't want a Bear Tooth type ride.

We've driven both way often. 89 to Page and down to Flagstaff is an easy drive but longer than the other route. You will come to a easy detour at Page.

89A - you will have an uphill to Jacob Lake and a curvy downhill just east of Jacob Lake. Both are short rides. This way, to us, is more scenic. Then 89A to Flagstaff is easy going.

There's one grade on 89 between Page and the hwy 160 turn off to Tuba City but nothing too bad. There is a new piece of road near the "cut" do to a washout last year! Beautiful area.
