We're going to Orlando next week. Is 9A around Jacksonville now a better way to continue on (95 south rather than 295. We will be traveling through the area on a Sunday 10/19.

Thanks,
Tony

If you are going through J'Ville on a Sunday I'd go straight on 95. Even with all the construction, it's still better than 295!
Take your time and it would be fine.

9A, to my knowledge, is still not complete. Last time we were on it, in June, There were still areas yet to be opened. As said, on a Sunday, run 95 right on through.

I join the others who have posted. Stay on I95. Even during week days, outside of the comuter rush, I always stay on I95. Heading South, as you approach the bridge (where I10 and I95 cross) stay in the left lane. There is a hard (20 MPH) left corner after the bridge. Being in the left lane before and during the turn keeps you in the correct lane after the turn. Headin North, it is the same. Stay in the left lane for I95 and it will be a hard right turn. The left lane in the turn will put you in the correct lane after the turn.

Yes... 9A is open to the east and connects I95 and completes 295... and would be my choice over 295 to the west.

However, straight through is probably best except for rush hour.

I drove thru Jacksonville today heading North at about 11 AM on I 95. No problems with traffic but as Gary noted slow downs for turns in construction areas.

I have driven 9A at all times of the day all days of the week and it is smooth sailing.
