This is our favorite place to stay in the Black Hills area, close to all attractions.
Rafter J Bar Ranch - Home

The Beartooth Highway is a fantastic drive on the east side of Yellowstone.
The Beartooth Highway & Beartooth Pass | Montana | Wyoming

Cruzer has a lot of good info also.

It has been a few years but we visited Mt.Rushmore on July 3rd when they were celebrating Independence Day, don't ask me why and then went to the nearby town of Custer for the 4th and witnessed the best fire works display ever. Another consideration is to head North after GNR and hit the Michigan U.P. and stop off at the "Ford" in Dearborn, a truly wonderful museum. Winnebago has some great Rallies and Caravans so while at GNR go to a seminar about them and get their ideas.
